If you are wondering whether DEOMED® medical socks are the right choice for you, read the questions most frequently asked by our customers.
1. Which socks are for diabetics?
ALL OF THEM! The properties of all DEOMED® socks (no compression, seamless joining, softness, elasticity, antibacterial and antifungal action, etc.) make them especially recommended as an element of diabetic foot syndrome prevention.
2. Is the cuff in the socks durable and does it not stretch after washing so much that the sock slips off the foot?
The cuff uses very thin but durable elastane fibre that does not lose elasticity after washing.
3. Why are the socks not 100% bamboo or 100% cotton?
The socks are made from natural raw materials (cotton, bamboo, seaweed), but polyamide and elastane are necessary. Thanks to these fibres they are elastic and durable. Socks without this addition lose elasticity after 1–2 washes.
4. What characteristic features do these socks have?
● delicate but durable;
● inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi on the skin;
● very elastic and stretchy yet stay on the leg;
● seamless — they do not chafe the legs;
● other features related to the construction and materials of individual models.
5. Do feet sweat excessively in DEOMED® socks?
The socks do not reduce sweat production by the skin, but they prevent bacteria and fungi from developing in sweat released by the skin. This protects against bacterial and fungal infections, and the socks do not have an unpleasant odour even after long use.
6. Do the socks have an antifungal role?
YES — the sock fabric has laboratory-confirmed properties that inhibit the growth of fungi and bacteria.
7. Do the socks cause allergies or irritate the skin of the feet?
NO — the materials used to produce the socks have been dermatologically tested and have the appropriate certifications.
8. Are the socks suitable for people with circulation disorders?
They should definitely be recommended to people with circulation disorders — the socks gently hug the legs without causing excessive pressure.
9. How do socks made from bamboo yarn differ from those made from traditional cotton?
Bamboo yarn is exceptionally soft and gentle to the touch, so it is especially suitable for people with sensitive feet. Socks made from it are more breathable; bamboo also has natural bacteriostatic properties. The downside of the softness of bamboo yarn socks is slightly lower durability and resistance to abrasion.
10. Why are DEOMED® socks more expensive than ordinary socks?
The price reflects the special construction, use of the highest quality materials and production on the most modern knitting machines. Thanks to these features and meticulous quality control during production, DEOMED® socks have unique properties. Higher quality must cost more.
11. Do the socks really stay up?
The socks use very thin, elastic, appropriately selected elastane fibre in the cuff. This fibre gently hugs the leg, preventing socks from slipping off without causing excessive pressure.
12. Are DEOMED® socks intended only for sick people?
NO — for healthy people they provide comfort unmatched by other socks. No compression and softness prevent tired legs after a full day, and inhibiting bacteria and fungi has hygienic and aesthetic effects — the socks act like a deodorant, fighting unpleasant odour.
13. Are the antibacterial and antifungal properties permanent?
YES — these properties resist washing; the socks act antibacterially and antifungally even after dozens of washes. This has been confirmed by tests.
