They do not impair circulation - blood flows freely even with swollen legs.
How DEOMED® socks work
A unique medical construction combines three independent methods of antimicrobial protection with an anatomical, non-compressive and seamless cut developed together with doctors. Technology refined over more than 37 years of the company's history.
Seamless toe closure and an elastic, non-compressive top protect delicate skin from friction and restricted circulation - solutions that matter in everyday diabetic foot prevention and for people with oedema.
Three antimicrobial methods - SANITIZED®, zinc oxide and silver ions - work in parallel, limiting bacteria that cause odour and the risk of skin infections on the foot.

Key properties
The absence of seams removes the risk of abrasions and microtrauma - crucial with neuropathy.
They can be pulled on even over a badly swollen foot. They never restrict movement.
They protect against bacterial and fungal infections.
They work like an unscented deodorant - neutralising the bacteria responsible for odour.
The yarn structure keeps air circulating around the foot all day long.
Anatomical reinforcements at the heel and toes reduce point pressure.
3 methods of antimicrobial protection
Swiss licence
SANITIZED®

A finish produced under licence from the Swiss company SANITIZED® permanently bonds antimicrobial substances to the fibre - effective throughout the life of the product.
Natural action
Zinc oxide

Yarn containing zinc oxide (ZnO) neutralises the bacteria responsible for unpleasant odour and supports regeneration of the skin of the foot.
Spectrum of action
Silver ions

Silver-infused yarn shows a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity - a natural barrier against skin infections.

Technology that protects the foot

The cuff
The secret of the non-compressive top
In conventional socks, tight cuffs act like tourniquets. In specialist models the elastic band is replaced by a special, open knit with variable elasticity. The design challenge is to find the perfect balance: the cuff has to work like an accordion, adapting gently to the circumference of the calf (even when it is swollen), yet it must not spread out and slide down while walking. Achieving that stability requires precise programming of the knitting machines and a perfectly chosen fibre tension.

The seam
The secret of seamless linking
In conventional socks the join above the toes is usually stitched on a sewing machine, which creates a ridge. In medical socks this method is unacceptable, because any hard point can cause microtrauma. The solution is a technology that closes the toe directly on the knitting machine. It is a far slower and more difficult process that demands the highest precision from the knitting needles. It gives perfect smoothness in the most sensitive place, protecting delicate skin from any pressure or friction.
